Island life is probably not for everyone and sometimes I feel as though I have taken a step back, however I have enjoyed the journey over the last two years and would not have traded this experience in for anything.
The Good – great beaches and the beautiful Caribbean sea, warm weather, fresh fish, price of rum, ability to wear a bikini top instead of a bra every day (even if little or lack of support)
The Bad – the drivers, customer service, long queues at the bank, post office, vehicle tax office and lack of respect for animals
The Annoying – intermitent internet, water cuts, lack of respect for historic buildings, untidiness e.g.litter on the side of the roads, selfish drivers, pot holes in the road, bad manners, centipedes, price of fresh fruit and veg.
Being on the island for long periods of time you can get island fever (e.g. you need to get off) I consider ourselves lucky enough to have had the best of both worlds, being able to live on the Island in the first place, and being able to get off whenever we need to!
